Thank you for being exactly who I need

-- Jennifer S
Your kid is NOT broken...
they're just complex.

With the right approach, you can help them be successful and
rediscover your joy of being their parent -- all at the same time!
If you're a parent, exhausted by years of frustration and worry, feeling like nothing you've tried has ever really helped enough to see the light at the end of the tunnel ... then this may be just the message you need to hear today.
These 3 Words Can Change Your Life:

      UP UNTIL NOW

My friend, UP UNTIL NOW you've done everything possible you could think of to support your child.

You've read books and searched online 'til the wee hours of the morning.

You've taken your kid to therapies and doctors and tutors, and anything else you heard would help to ease their pain and solve their problems.

You've tried supplements, or special diets, or maybe even medication to make things better.

      Or maybe you didn't.

Maybe you listened to well-meaning friends and family who told you to be patient, that it's a phase, that they'd grow out of it.

Whatever has happened up until now, this we know for certain:

You've done the best you could
        with the information you've had!

You've managed missed assignments and meltdowns, social missteps, overwhelm, anxiety, anger and more.

You've done what the experts told you to do. And when you didn't get the support you needed, you sought out more experts and more guidance.

        Truly, you've done sooo much.
Now, as you sit here reading this, there's a part of you that's probably thinking, "But I could have done more. But I should have done something different."

Ok, well you can "woulda-coulda-shoulda" all you want, but it's not going to change anything.

You cannot go back and change anything that has happened UP UNTIL NOW.

          Not. One. Thing.

And if you do "should" all over yourself, all its going to do is drag you down -- and drag your kid down with you.

After all, could + shame = should.

So it's time to stop beating up on yourself for what you haven't been able to achieve UP UNTIL NOW.

And look to the wisdom of the late (and magnificent) Maya Angelou who said,

“Do the best you can until you know better.
Then when you know better, do better.”

So you've tried everything, and nothing has worked enough... yet. Those three letters are pretty powerful, too.

            Nothing has worked ... YET.

But because you care -- deeply -- there's nothing you won't do for this kid!

You're not going to stop ... because you won't let this kid fail in life, not when you see how extraordinary they are!

Especially not now that you've found something that you suspect can really help.

Of course, we understand the feeling that you don't want to need help.

You probably feel like you should be able to do this on your own.

You might even beat yourself up, thinking (wrongly!) that if you were a better parent, you wouldn't need help.

We get that, because we've all been right there with you. Some of us for more than 30 years.

But ... it's more complicated than that when you have complex kids.

In fact, your own history proves that if you knew how to help them, you'd have done it already.

Chances are you've tried a lot of things and followed a lot of expert advise.

But no-one ever tells you that typical parenting advice isn't designed for complex kids. And maybe that's why you hesitate to try something else.

We understand first hand that parenting complex kids of ANY age gets lonely. There's lots of uncertainty and hesitation. It feels like uncharted waters!

But it's not uncharted. And you're not really alone, after all.

That same uncertainty and isolation you're feeling right now is what guided us to create these amazing resources and this supportive community at ImpactParents.

All of us at ImpactParents -- the Coaches, the Care Team, the Admin Support -- are parents, first and foremost.

We're all raising complex children, teens, and young adults in challenging times. Our kids are as young as 3 and as old as 36!

We all understand, first hand, that raising complex kids can be incredibly stressful.

And we are all passionate about helping parents in our community get the kind of support we wished we'd had.

The kind of support that has turned things around and strengthened relationships in our families in ways we never really thought possible.

Our hearts are warmed, every day, by messages of gratitude from parents who tell us that training and coaching for them is making a dramatic difference for their families.

A huge difference in their lives. A profound difference in their kids' lives.

Honestly, those messages of gratitude keep motivate us to go the extra mile for our community.

We love that we get to shower support and compassion on parents who all too often feel exhausted by the stress and strain of raising complex kids.

We get that you're just trying to navigate your way through a life that is much more complicated than you expected!

We know that you're trying super hard to do the best that you can for your kids, and that you're not always clear how to do that.

We know, from our own experience and the tens of thousands of parents we've supported before you, that when you embrace help -- when you get support that really understands what your life is like when it comes to parenting complex kids -- it lightens your load.

And that's when things start getting better for you ... and your family.

                 Imagine life when…

                • you don't feel like you are trying to move mountains all the time

                • simple requests of your kids don't create World War III

                • your kids are motivated to do their schoolwork — and turn it in on time

                • your teen's behavior is genuinely loving and respectfully independent

                • your young adults are willing to talk with you about their future

                • you have the tools to teach your kids to manage their challenging issues, and they want to learn them

                • your kids turn to you for help with their problems, instead of taking them out on you

                   Here's How.

There really are effective ways to help your kids learn to manage the complex issues they are facing.

And truly - this method is not complicated.

But this may surprise you: our tools are focused on you, the parent.

They guide you to shift communication with your complex kids, sometimes in very subtle ways.

It's amazing how little tweaks can lead to big changes.

To be sure, medications can help for some kids; but it is not complete treatment, even when it works great.

In fact, the research is clear -- when medicine is complemented by parent training, it improves its effectiveness (and reduces the amount needed). Besides, meds don’t work 24 hours a day, right?! You still gotta deal with life before and after! 🙂

The change you want happens step by step
as you begin to parent just a little differently.

It's little tweaks, really, that have a huge impact as you begin to respond effectively, instead of reacting.

When you become genuinely less angry and frustrated (that's our promise!), you begin to look at what is working, instead of just what isn't.

When you focus on incremental progress and become more connected -- the entire family dynamic begins to improve.

Thousands of parents have mastered this approach to parenting.

Parents with kids in pre-school, middle school, high school, college and into young adulthood.

Parents of kids with ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism, LD, medical challenges, and all kinds of related challenges.

And parents of kids with no diagnosis at all.

If you have a child, teen, or young adult who struggles with any aspect of life, learning, behavior, social skills or emotional management, then you have a complex kiddo.

And this program and community can support you.

Parents in our community learn strategies and tools to calm themselves, when needed.

They learn techniques to communicate effectively so they can empower even the most complex kids.

And they learn how to guide their kids through a collaborative process of problem-solving, so their kids begin to learn to solve their own challenges!

We can share this approach with you – show you how to manage your child’s behavior in a way that keeps their self-esteem in tact.

And we can support you while you practice, while you figure it out. While you take one step at a time, one celebration at a time.

                       The Coach-Approach to Parenting
                      (neuro-informed for complex kids)

You may already have some experience with coaching, which is an evidence-based method for creating and managing change. Or maybe you don't know anything about it, yet.

It doesn't matter, really, whether it's familiar or new to you.

Coaching is all about helping people realize their full potential -- so they can become their best selves.

And it turns out that the skills and tools from coaching (especially when they're neurodiversity informed) are extremely effective for parents!

Probably because parents have a better motivation than anyone to want their kids become the best that they can be.

Research proves that when kids feel like they have a champion in their corner, it improves their performance and they have a better life.

The coach-approach teaches you how to do that -- to effectively champion your complex kids in constructive, empowering ways...

... so that your kids feel you are helping them, instead of resisting help because they feel controlled.

... so that you learn to navigate the fine lines, to move from directing your children to collaborating with them to encourage their independence.

... so that you practice techniques to guide your kids to take ownership, and then support them to move intentionally in the direction of their dreams.

You want so much for your kids.

We see how much you want to help them.

When you focus on learning how to help them in a way that they accept and embrace -- in a way that helps them see that you are really on their team -- you'll shift from constant correction and criticism to ongoing collaboration and support...

Ultimately, they'll see you as their greatest champion.

And what happens from there is exponential. And it is outrageous rewarding as a parent!

The coach-approach offers you a way to:

                      • Help your kids determine their strengths and motivations so they can feel confident in themselves

                      • Empower your kids to use strategies so they can be more successful

                      • Teach your kids to shift perspectives and get “unstuck” so they can believe in themselves

                      • Share advice and guidance in a way that your kids can hear it, so they can learn from their experiences -- both successes and mistakes

                      • Support your kids to identify what's important to them, so they can find a successful path in life, work and relationships

                      • Provide constructive feedback and accountability to help your kids grow without feeling embarrassed ashamed, or judged

                      • Share your values, beliefs and perspectives so you can teach your kids what you think is important

As fellow parents, we see you.
And we understand how hard this can be for you!

And we are guessing -- you feel that way about your kids, too.

You see how hard it is for them.

You just wish they would follow your lead, right??

Don't you wish you could just say:

"Honey, this is what you're struggling with. This is what you need to do make things better. This is how much better things will be for you if you just do what I suggest and let me help you."

You want to say that -- and have them listen to you, right?!!?

Would that it were that simple!

We feel that about parents, too. We totally get how hard it is to make decisions about what's best to do for your precious kids!

We would love to just say "honey, trust our experience and our wisdom. We've got you." And have that be enough.

Because we know -- with 100% certainty -- that the coach-approach can make a difference in your life, and in theirs.

We have received literally thousands of testimonials from parents over the years -- sharing tons of different benefits they've received.

But the one message we hear more than anything else, by far, is what Lori, and Pamela, and Liz, and so many others have said quite clearly:

"I only wish I had found you sooner!!!!!”

Up Until Now, my friend, you've done the best you could with what you had.

TODAY, we're inviting you to start again. Now, from here forward.

                        Try something that is proven.

Something that has worked for tens of thousands of parents since 2011.

It may be new and different for you. It may even feel a little daunting to think about focusing on yourself when your child is struggling.

                        But you are struggling, too.

Your stress, overwhelm, or frustration is not helping the situation at all.

With proven guidance, in the support of an extraordinary community of coaches and parents who -- like you -- want to help their kids more than anything, you can START NOW, and MAKE REAL, LASTING CHANGE FROM HERE FORWARD!

                        Again, as Maya reminds us:

"... when you know better, you do better."

“You have given me one of the greatest gifts of all - the support I've desperately needed for myself and the empowerment to transfer that support to my children with a more positive tone. My family and my doctor have noticed the shift in my attitude and parenting style -- and I owe it all to you. The impact on my relationship with my stepdaughter is profound -- and family members notice it. Managing stress and anxiety has never been a strength of mine, and yet during an extremely stressful time in my life, I'm able to maintain positivity. As a result, my 14 year old finished the semester with a B+ in Algebra, the class she hates the most! You have changed my life.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank You.”

Thousands of parents have already changed their lives with our coach-approach to parenting.

We've been providing training and group coaching since October 2011! Since then, every parent who actively participated in this transformative program has seen results. That's not an over-statement, we assure you. Are there parents who didn't love everything about it. Sure. It's not always easy.

And, with coaching as a framework for parent training, it's virtually impossible to take this program — to get regular training and coaching — and not significantly change yourself, your child and the family dynamic.

Coach training is often described as the best-kept personal growth secret in the world. When parents get coaching training, family transformation happens.

As we shared above, coaching has been proven by research to be an effective method for creating lasting change.

At ImpactParents, you get coaching for you AND you learn coaching skills so you can take a 'coach-like' approach as a parent, and as a partner, and as a human being in the world, and basically in any relationship you have.

To be clear, we are not training you to become your child's coach. We want you to be their parent. But when you be with them in a more coach-like way, the results are tangible.

                                      Extraordinary. Transformational. Profound.

It's not because we're so fabulous (though our team and community are pretty spectacular, if we do say so, ourselves!).

The truth is that this program works because coaching is a particularly effective way of supporting people to gain:

FOCUS on what's most important to them.
CLARITY on how to approach life's challenges and opportunities.
ACTION to move things forward in positive, effective ways.

This is what you want for yourself. And this is what you want for your kids. This is the promise of the coach-approach.

When you join the program, you can expect:
We’re 100% confident that this is the best parent training and coaching program available for parents of complex kids that you will find anywhere.

That's not just because it's the ONLY program that combines Parent Training & Coaching by teaching coaching skills to parents (that are informed by neurodiversity awareness).

It's because its been tested, and proven, again and again for more than a dozen years.

We believe in it so much that we back it up with a guarantee.

Any parent who wants to improve family life can participate and benefit from this program, no matter the age or stage of your kid.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve taken other courses to manage your kids challenges, or if you’re completely new to this world.

It doesn't matter if you're a trained therapist, physician, or coach.

It doesn't matter if you have complex issues, yourself.

It doesn't even matter if your kids challenges are not 'diagnosed' in any way.

This program is different because it is based on the proven principles of professional coaching. And that's why it works.

It gives you a space to focus on you. To think about how you want to show up as a parent. A place to practice and get feedback. To tweak what you're doing ... and try again.

It gives you a structure, with training and coaching, to become a better parent. To become the parent you really want to be and your child needs you to be.

If you and your partner or co-parent choose to do this together, there's no extra charge -- and it creates a common language, a shared approach, and a framework to collaboratively co-create the support your kids really need.

But if your co-parent is not on board, it's really okay, too. We promise. It only takes one parent to turn the ship.

We know this is hard for parents to accept or believe. But it's proven to be true, again and again.

Tons of parents in our community are single parents. Or sometimes they have a partner but still feel like they're doing this all alone.

Either way, group coaching becomes a way to gain a partner in parenting, so you don't always feel so alone in the process.

Because whether your child's other parents get involved, or not, you will focus on your relationship with your kid. And that is the secret sauce to a lifelong relationship of trust and connection.

We’ve gone to great lengths, constantly tweaking and improving this program for more than a dozen years, to make sure that YOU – no matter what level you’re at – will experience explosive results!

Who are we and why should you put your trust in us?

We are Elaine and Diane, the co-founders of ImpactADHD® and ImpactParents.com. We are also the co-creators of Sanity School® for Parents and Sanity School® for Teachers, the authors of an award-winning blog and three best-selling books (including Parenting ADHD Now! Easy Intervention Strategies to Empower Kids with ADHD and The Essential Guide to Raising Complex Kids with ADHD, Anxiety and More) and the hosts of the highly acclaimed Parenting with Impact podcast. Elaine is a Master Certified Coach, Diane is a Professional Certified Coach, and we've been teaching and coaching together as a dynamic duo since 2011.

Those are our 'official' credentials. But what really qualifies us to lead you in this community is that we are moms who have been on this journey for more than 30 years each -- and we are still on this roller-coaster ride with you!

Between our two families, we are the parents of a combined 6 kids with complex challenges such as ADHD, anxiety, autism, learning disabilities, and more. As we began to raise our own children with a coach-approach, our family dynamics improved dramatically -- and we each realized that we became significantly better parents to our complex children and teens. Now, we each are proud to say that we have terrific relationships with our six successful young adults -- and they have terrific relationships with their siblings. Oh, and we've managed to keep our sense of humor in the process!
There was a lot of support available for kids, but almost nothing available to guide us as parents, ourselves.

But back to our beginning. As coaches certified by the International Coach Federation, we knew that parents of kids like ours — kids with ADHD, anxiety, autism, learning disabilities and more — needed more than they were getting to help their kids navigate life's complexities.

We understood from our own experiences that:
                                            • Parents want to learn how to help their kids -- without feeling judged or shamed because their kids are struggling with challenging behaviors
                                            • Learning to take a coach-approach could help parents immensely -- striking a balance between guiding kids and empowering them to become independent
                                            • Teaching the coach-approach to parents could transform families as it had done for ours -- and for our clients!

We felt strongly that parents needed someone to provide support, to help them improve their family life -- and we realized that “someone” was us!
Who better than two professional moms, whose lives and families were transformed by taking a coach-approach to parenting, to pave a new path for other parents?!

After more than a dozen years, we are proud to be seen globally as a leading 'voice for parents' raising complex kids. We’ve actively supported millions of families in the U.S. and in hundreds of countries around the world. It's amazing to say this, and it's true: we've impacted literally millions of lives! We’ve been sought after for guidance, training and expertise by a wide range of institutions, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, Understood, Attention and ADDitude magazines, the National Board of Directors of CHADD (Children and Adults with ADHD, on which Elaine served), NAMI, the International Coach Federation, and so much more.

We have presented at countless international conferences and trainings around the globe (European Congress on Positive Psychology, International Conference on ADHD, Learning Disability Association of America, etc.), and are often sought out to provide continuing education and resource development for school districts, parent associations, foster care organizations, professional associations, religious organizations, non-profits and private corporations.
We know firsthand that having a complex child, teen or young adult can be draining -- on your time, your home life, and of course your wallet.

We know you often feel judged, isolated and overwhelmed.

And it's time for that to stop!

The challenges are many, but you don't have to face them alone. We have been committed to serve parents like us, parents like you, since 2011. In our community you'll receive understanding, non-judgmental support, the tools you need to help your child thrive, and the peace of mind you deserve. You'll learn a neurodiversity-informed coach approach.

Whether you're a parent, teacher, or other helping professional, you'll experience a mindset and problem-solving method that effectively guides children, teens and young adults to become independent and successful adults.

From the beginning, we've been committed to provide resources as affordably and accessibly as we can possibly make them available, because we know how effective they are. We call ourselves a private sector business for the public good, because we are determined to make the coach-approach accessible to EVERYONE who wants to learn a new way of being with complex kids that helps them feel great about themselves, and guides them to take ownership of their lives.

As moms, we've been there, and we are still there! We've learned what works, and what doesn't. And we understand very clearly that you need support that works for you. On that you have our promise. Give us the chance, and our amazing team of coaches and admin support -- all of us parents -- will take really good care of you. From one parent to another, we will hold your hand and help you get your whole family back on the path to success.

We've each been where you are ...

                                            MCC, CPCC

It was hard, frustrating, lonely and terrifying.

I struggled to navigate my children’s multiple diagnoses, including ADHD, anxiety, autism (but we didn't know that then!), and learning disabilities, not to mention severe allergies and auto-immune disorders. As other children reached milestones, my kids had therapy sessions and school changes.

I was diagnosed with my own attention and learning issues around 40. Suddenly, my whole life made sense! While working with a coach, I realized that proper support and small changes actually make a big impact.

This led me to believe my children could thrive. My perspective shifted from fear to hope. I started approaching parenting with confidence and optimism. Parenting became manageable and my family started working together like a team.

Inspired by how coaching permanently transformed my life, I pursued coaching certification. I grew to take the professionalism of my industry very seriously, and continued on to become a Master Certified Coach, which is still a rather rare achievement.

I am committed to make sure that no parent has to go through what I went through alone those first ten years. Or that no one else's child has to go through what my kids, or my husband, or my brother, or I went through as children before we were understood.

Oh, and one more thing. I have been married to the same man for more than 32 years, but my husband's ADHD was not well-identified or treated in our early years together. After I became a coach, pretty soon, my husband joined the adventure. Now we're both Master Certified Coaches, and continue to manage our complex issues and co-parent our complex young adults ... collaboratively, together.

My life took a challenging turn when I began raising two complex children and managing a marriage with my ADHD husband.

Initially, I approached my family's challenges like any work project - with willpower and hard work. I became “Super Mom.” This worked for a while, but it soon left me short-tempered, stressed, and resentful.

Through coaching, I experienced a turning point. I realized that helping my family started with helping myself. I redefined "Super Mom" to include honoring my own needs and treating myself with compassion.

My perspective shifted dramatically. I began to see things with more clarity, and more effectively empowered my family. I learned to solve problems with support rather than judgment, and to set realistic goals.

Inspired by my personal transformation, I pursued a coaching career. I am dedicated to empowering other parents on similar journeys, providing the support and guidance I once needed myself.

Gone is the screaming, blaming, nagging, and stress. Phewww what a good feeling. It is the second time he has come to me recently with a problem — which he didn't do before, since he said I always over-reacted (which I did).”

I felt like the worst parent in the world! Sanity School® and coaching was my answer – professionals who’d actually lived/parenting ADHD 24/7. I started out wanting to ‘fix my kid.’ I ended up rediscovering the joy of being my daughter’s mom… Our family is empowered, not only with skills, compassion and resources, but also with hope.”

Sharing with other families experiencing the same daily frustrations gave me both comfort and confidence that I'm not alone or defeated. My house is calmer and the insane times are not so explosive!”

Recently, a colleague of ours interviewed us.
He asked us a powerful question.
He asked, "what breaks your heart?"
And our answer, which you can hear in this raw and unedited video below, was surprising even to us.
We realized that what breaks our heart are the stories parents tell us
                                            when they first find us.

BEFORE they start working with us
parents have often gotten help that wasn't helpful,
or they delay getting help because
                                            ... they're afraid it won't work,
... or they're afraid to take a chance,
... or their partner is not on board,
... or they're sure their situation is different.

So many stories break our hearts.
Because we know we can help.
But we can't make a difference until parents ask for our help.

Our heart for you is that you
don't wait to get the help you need.
That you believe it when we tell you
no matter how young or old your child may be:
it is never too late to turn thing around for your family.

                                            Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from other parenting programs?
This is an in-depth group program that teaches coaching skills to parents to improve communication and foster independence, and then guides you through the process of practicing. It includes the most effective knowledge, tools, techniques and strategies to understand how to use a coach-approach with your child. That training combines with a group coaching structure to help you apply your learning. It is as effective for a newbie to the world of complex kids as it is for seasoned parents who want to take things to the next level. Truly, any parent with a complex child of any age, 4 to 40, is will benefit. This program hits the most important insights a parent of any complex kid needs to know. No messing around – we get right to the point, so you can create the lasting change you want for your family.
My child has not been diagnosed with anything. Will it still help me?
Absolutely! We welcome parents of what we like to call “complex” kids – children who struggle with any aspect of life, learning, behavior, social skills or emotional management. An underlying diagnosis for your child's challenges may be suspected, or not! Either way, about 70% of kids with ADHD, for example, have other challenges, as well. These strategies are focused on how you approach your child and their challenges, so this method works for parents of all kids, with or without challenges, at any age. Of course, if ADHD, anxiety, autism, LD, depression, or other challenges of executive function are suspected or diagnosed, it works for you, too. Bottom line: if you have a “complex” kid, you probably know what we mean – and this is definitely for you.
My child is the one who is struggling. Why should I get help for me?
Have you ever thought about that word: Parenting? Parenting is actually about us, not about our kids. Sure, part of the job of parenting is 'child-rearing,' or 'raising kids,' or whatever you want to call it. With one of our kids, we used to say that it is "my privilege to supervise her while she raises herself." But really -- parenting is not about kids. It's about who we are BEING while we are doing the work of loving and guiding our children. Our journey is to be with them on their journey -- and that can get complicated sometimes. Messy. Confusing! If you are a parent who knows that your parenting journey is definitely challenging you to learn some stuff; if you know that you're child is struggling and you are not clear, yet, how to help; if you know that your reactions are not helping things, and might even be making things more complicated ... then the change you want for your child starts with you.
How much of a commitment does this program require?
The minimum commitment is 3 months. That’s the typical time it takes for most parents to start noticing significant, lasting changes in their child’s behavior. Sanity School®'s Group Coaching was designed to be an ongoing, 12-month support program, so parents who stay beyond the 3-month period report much more substantial results. They comfortably use the Coach Approach even in stressful situations, and their kids’ independence improves dramatically. But for now, in roughly 1 hour a week, you can make changes that start to improve family life immediately. Even better, as you practice and begin to incorporate this approach on a daily basis, you'll build stronger relationships that last for the rest of your life as a parent.
What age kids is this helpful for?
Since the coach-approach offers strategies for improving communication and fostering self-reliance (and so much more!), everything we do is designed for all parents of complex kids at any age or stage. So whether you have younger children (ages 4-12), teenagers (ages 13-18), or young adults (ages 19 - 40) (yes, we said 40 :-), you will learn skills and practice using tools to improve your communication, shift from directing to collaborating, and foster increasing independence in kids of any age. The earlier you start, the easier the changes. And truly... it's never too late to change the dynamic and improve your relationship (we promise!!). So if you're parenting older kids, we assure you this will help. While we've been leading coaching groups since 2011, in 2021 we added extra groups to support parents of young adults. So now, our coaching groups are divided into four age groups: parents of ALL ages, younger kids, older kids (teens) and young adults.
What if a child is taking medication? Or if I am unsure about medication?
The point of medication when children are struggling with challenging issues is to reduce the frequency and intensity of their symptoms. And typically, it does not make all their challenges disappear. Parent support is recommended by all major medical associations as a first line treatment, in addition to medication, because studies show that it improves outcomes. When symptoms are reduced, parents who receive training are able to work with their children to address executive function delays and improve a broad range of behaviors. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology found that kids with ADHD who received behavioral treatment (meaning, their parents went through parent training) before starting medication had fewer behavioral problems than those who started with medication right away. There's also research to indicate that for young children, starting with behavioral interventions can delay, reduce or even eliminate the need for medication in children with ADHD. Less medication mean fewer side effects, such as trouble sleeping, loss of appetite, or personality changes. And if medication is not something you're considering at this point, then parent training is definitely the best next step.
What if I don’t like my group or they don’t fit my schedule?
Groups are led by several different coaches, and there are different options for each of the age groups. So if you’re not finding a coach or group to be the best fit for you, you can try another group. And if your schedule changes, or you can’t make it to your group on any particular week, you can always join another group that week, listen later, or even change groups as your schedule shifts throughout the year. We created this program with a 'flexible structure' because, as a parent of complex kids, we know you need that to make it work in your life. While we encourage you to attend the groups live, some parents only ever listen to the recordings. It's really up to want works for you in your life, and your Care Consultant will help you figure out how to make it work for you.
Can my spouse / co-parent also join?
We never charge extra for co-parents. We have spouses, co-parents, step-parents, grandparents and childcare helpers in our programs. Upon request, you can receive an additional login credential for someone supporting you to access the Sanity School® training videos at no additional cost. In addition, they may also join live coaching sessions with you, or listen to the recordings on their own time, as well.
How long does it take to see results?
Many parents say they feel a deep sense of relief as soon as they sign up. That’s a great first result, and it’s just the beginning. Within one (1) month, you'll start to feel calmer and more hopeful. Tensions will begin to reduce. Within two to three (2 - 3) months, you’ll notice significant behavior changes in your child as they begin to respond to your new approach and more effective strategies than you may have tried in the past. This is why the minimum duration of the program is three (3) months. Parents tend to stay in our community for a much longer time because it's a great structure to give yourself a space, two to four (2 - 4) times a month, that encourages you to think about how you want to show up as a parent. With the support of your small group and coach, and ongoing access to Office Hours for immediate problem-solving support, you'll have a partner on your journey -- available as long as you want support.

We've learned from experience that it takes time to create lasting change, but we also understand that your commitments need to work for you and your family. As you explore the program, we'll work with you to use it well and fit it into your life. If you use the program for at least three (3) months and don't think it's a good fit, you can cancel anytime. Otherwise, for your convenience, your monthly membership will continue at $197/month until you direct us to cancel by simply emailing our team.
"I'm not sure if it's worth it or if I can afford it."*
For the information you’ll get in a program like this, and the ongoing support that comes with it for the year, you could end up paying thousands of dollars with a private provider. This program is a much more modest investment for the same high-quality training you’d receive at a conference or in a private provider's office. Given that you can learn from home, you don’t have to worry about childcare costs (or the stress of leaving your complex child at home!), travel costs, or traffic woes, this is a much more efficient and effective investment of your energy, your time, and your hard-earned resources!

On a less practical and much more personal level, investing in your relationship with your child is a lifelong gift that we cannot calculate in dollars.

As Sheri said quite simply, "
You are saving my relationship with my son."
"Is it worth the monthly investment?"
Absolutely! Consider this: What is the value of learning a process for handling with more confidence any complicated situation that arises, so that you're parenting with confidence through both the good times and the tough times? Or consider, what's the value to your kids when you end feelings of isolation and start feeling a sense of belonging? How will that help your child to feel a sense of belonging? Or consider, what are the benefits of having frequent, leading world experts -- who are also parents -- walking beside you on your journey? With this program, you're investing in a peaceful home, a supportive community, and resources that can fundamentally transform and improve your parenting journey.

On a more practical note, investing now in preventive efforts to set up your child for success also saves you thousands dollars of unwanted expenses later.

                                            As Audrey shared, "
The seeds we are planting now are already bringing the joy of parenting I heard about, but rarely experienced. The strategies even apply to my non-ADHD son, and the way I talk to my spouse. Meltdowns and stress are down and our confidence is up. Think of all the money I’m saving on health issues, junk food, parenting books, and marriage and family counseling! ... Besides, we are willing to save thousands of dollars for college as an investment in his future, so why wouldn’t we spend a fraction of that to help him be ready to succeed there?"*
"I'm already overwhelmed. How will I find the time?"
We get what your life is like, more than you can even imagine yet. That's why everything we do is designed to support the lives of busy parents who are already at their wits' end. Our on-demand training is set up for you to consume at your pace, in small bite-size videos to make it easy to use. The webinar library is available in the same portal, with content accessible 24/7 so you can tap into any resources whenever it's convenient for you.

The group coaching and Office Hours calls alternate weeks, so that you can focus on only one live call each week for support, connection, and a place to ground yourself in your community. You'll get to select your coaching group from many options -- for parents of younger kids, teens, young adults, or all ages -- so you can choose your group based on your schedule and the age of your kids. And if you can't make it some weeks, you can join a different group, or watch your group on the replay.

And all of that is before we introduce you to your very own care consultant, like a concierge to help you figure out how to make this program fit seamlessly into your life! While we can't eliminate the overwhelm of life with complex kids, we can promise you that this support will lighten your load. It will not feel like one more thing you have to add to your plate.

                                            As Linda said,
"I learn so much every time I’m on a support call!"

Heidi's comment may capture it best: "An amazing thing happens with coaching: It can be hard to make the time to do it, but amazingly it ends up creating more space in my life overall.

"What if the advice doesn't apply to my situation?"
Imagine the community and coaches at ImpactParents as a companion to your parenting. For some, your group might feel like a co-parent; for others, it will feel like a safe place to think though and process what is important to you as a parent. We'll teach you skills and give you tools, but then we focus on helping you figure out what's most appropriate for your family. This is where coaching differs from therapy and consulting. ImpactParents is all about helping you learn how to take a coach-approach to problem-solving for your family's personal issues and complexities. Our resources are designed to help you tackle all the different kinds of challenges you face -- for kids of all ages! With group and laser coaching, you take aim on your unique circumstances and leave with insights to help you make the best decisions for yourself and your family. All the other experts you've encountered will tell you what to do. We will help you figure out how to do it in a way that works for your life and family.

                                            Jana's story is so heart-warming:
                                            "
All of the many years that I have been working so, so very hard to help my son since he was a toddler came clear to me today. I have spent thousands of dollars, have gone to so many specialists … I have dealt with everything because I had to. But today, I felt a sense of relief. I cried for the first time. I wanted someone who wouldn’t judge me or give me advice, but just 'be there' for me. You did that this morning as I listened to the end of the call. I finally felt understood. I just want you to know that you have touched someone’s life today ~ all the way in Maryland ~ who appreciates you very much.”

And Tristan's take is just as heartfelt:

"Finally! I feel like I've been a cat chasing its tail, flooded in a deep sea of articles, books, advice, tools, etc. ... Until Sanity School®, nothing seemed to click and/or work for my kiddo. Thank you, Diane Dempster and Elaine Taylor-Klaus. ... You are living angels and some pretty badass mamas too! Sending you loads of deep breaths and smiles!”

on their journey as human beings.
                                            To understand them well enough,
